About the APSC Congress

The Congress in 2019
The APSC hosts its main Congress every year. APSC 2019, the next main Congress of APSC, will be held in Manila, Philippines from May 22-26, 2019 with the theme "Unity in Diversity: Setting Global Standards in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Management." The Organizing Team is spearheaded by the President of the Philippine Heart Association, Dr. Nannette Rey. The regional meeting will coincide with the PHA 50th Annual Convention & Scientific Meeting.
Congress Objectives

  • Review and discuss the gaps and opportunities in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease across the different countries in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Discuss different strategies in translating clinical trial evidence and clinical guidelines into patient care
  • Present updates in risk factor assessment and management and provide most recent innovations in disease diagnosis and intervention
Target Audience
Cardiologists, internists, primary care physicians, healthcare providers either local, regional or international with interest in cardiovascular disease prevention and management.

Guidelines for SUBMISSION of abstract and manuscript

Guidelines for Authors
A.  All abstracts and manuscripts must be submitted electronically.
b. Both must be submitted WORD and PDF format
B.  Each paper submission must have the following supporting documents/acknowledgment:
1. COVER LETTER: should be submitted AS A SEPARATE DOCUMENT with each research paper submission.
    IMPORTANT: A cover letter SHOULD NOT be a part of the submitted manuscript.   It MUST contain the following information:
a. Title of the Research Paper
b. Category of the paper you are submitting it to: Analytical Research, Descriptive Research, Meta-analysis and Case Report
c. All Author Information, including: First name, middle initial, and last names, contact numbers, email address
d. Name of institution.
e. Statement that the paper has been reviewed and approved by respective institutional ethics review committees 
a. Authors must ensure that the data were collected in an ethical manner and has been approved by the institution’s ethics review committee.
b. Please ensure that manuscript is not currently under review at another journal or is not forthcoming.
c. Please prepare abstract and manuscript for anonymous review by removing author’s names and affiliations. Kindly do not include the name of your institution in the title, or any parts of your paper in both abstract and full manuscript to maintain anonymity.
d. Double-space all manuscript including text, headings, abstract, quotations and references. Tables may be in single space.
e. Please use a 12-point Arial font.
f. The abstract should be structured with distinct, labeled sections like INTRODUCTION, METHODS, RESULTS, AND DISCUSSION  for rapid comprehension in 300 OR LESS word count, double space excluding key words. Please do not put figures or tables in the abstract.
C. DECLARATION OF ORIGINALITY. Authors must ensure that the paper submitted is their own original work. A declaration of originality must be submitted together with the abstract.
D. DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION: There is a separate deadline for submission of abstracts and manuscripts.
a. For Abstracts: Deadline is on February 18, 2019 on or before midnight.
b. For manuscripts: Deadline is on March 18, 2019 on or before midnight.
c. Only those who have submitted the abstracts shall be allowed to submit the full manuscript.
d. Please submit abstracts and manuscripts via electronic mail in this address: 2019congressabstracts@gmail.com .
E. Please follow instructions. Revisions to each paper are allowed provided it is re-submitted before the deadline. Revision is not allowed after the deadline has passed.
FThere are 4 categories: Analytical Research, Descriptive Research, Meta-analysis, and Case report. These research papers will be submitted for peer review.
GPeer reviewers will be nominated by member countries of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology who will assess the merit of each paper and give a corresponding grade.      
HThe 5 papers with the highest scores per category will be eligible for oral presentation. The papers ranked 6 to 15 will be for moderated poster presentation.
